Lab Setup

All lab experiments can be conducted on virtual machines on students own computers. There is no need for phyiscal lab space or special equipments.

All software and tools are open sourced and free.

Virtual Machine Environment based on VirtualBox

We will rely on Oracle's VirtualBox for setting up the virtual machine environment since it is free and easy to use. Here is our lecture slides on how to set up virtual machine using VirtualBox (ppt).

Many Penetration Testing experiments need to use an Windows XP Virtual Machine. Here is our lecture slides on where to download WinXP VM, how to install it under VirtualBox (ppt).

• DIY car kit
• Temperature Sensor
• Light Sensor
• AA Batteries

Software Needed:

• Node.js (latest 8.11.X build)
• Node-Red flow-based development program
• Arduino IDE to program the NodeMCUs
